MusicControl allows you or anyone in the house to remotely control and pick music from your MP3 collection and play it on a designated "MP3 Server" from any laptop or PC.
This is suitable for people who have a PC-based stereo system and want anybody to be able to remotely control the music on that PC. MusicControl also comes with a host of features that allow you to manage your music collection, create and save communal playlists, and "pump" music files from the server to individual PCs for personal use. Optionally, we are happy to configure and set up your Music Server for you, and ins tall it in your home along with the MusicControl clients. MusicControl has a few pre-requisites, as follows: - A PC designated as the "Music Server", connected to some kind of stereo system.
- The Music Server must run Linux (Fedora suggested)
- The Music Server uses Amarok (A very powerful free Linux-based Music player)
Feature run-down: - Remotely play, pause, skip forwards or backwards any track from the playing playlist
- Display a list of the current playlist and choose any song from it for playing
- Display the entire music collections sorted by artist - album - title and select songs from it to add to the playlist or create a new playlist
- Save and load custom playlists
- Pump music files from the server to your PC or laptop simply by selecting a playlist
